De Paul Villa won a coveted National Award for ‘Better Practice in Aged Care’ in 2009, after designing and implementing an innovative care system based on a partnership with other health professionals. The system also greatly reduced the amount of paperwork for De Paul Villa’s nurses, which in turn resulted in significant improvements in the health of residents at De Paul Villa.

Senior Gold Coast Hospital staff also praised the concise and accurate information that accompanies residents from De Paul Villa when they require hospitalisation.

These Better Practice Awards are rarely given out by the agency that monitors the standard of care throughout Australia and with only 50 such awards given out since 2003, De Paul Villa is the only home on the Gold Coast to have earned one.
