Out of 22,500 entries De Paul Villa came up trumps in a big way recently winning a brand new Harley Davidson motorbike in a promotional draw. Popular staff personality ‘Kiwi,’ entered the draw on behalf of De Paul Villa, never thinking for a moment that there was a chance of winning the ‘Harley.’

While many residents would probably enjoy roaring around the grounds on the ‘chopper,’ it was decided that it would be a better option to take the cash instead of the shiny new bike! The prize money has already been put to good use with a new oven and deep fryers for the kitchen, and money being used towards the De Paul Villa Fun Fair Day which is open to all family and friends.

Dogs and cats at the local animal welfare will be cosy and warm this year following a donation of 20 rugs that were knitted by a group of residents from the ‘Villa.’

As part of the Diversional Therapy Programme donations of wool from our supporters were fashioned by the residents into warm coats for the homeless animals. Ten residents accompanied by a De Paul Villa Staff Member all piled into the community bus to personally deliver the rugs to the shelter.
